Removing Air Screw

Today I was disassembling my carbs to start dipping, and I ran into a problem when I went to remove the air screw. Instead of a flathead to unscrew, there is a disc with a hole the size of a paper clip. Do I need to pry this off? Thanks.

It has to be removed to make adjustments. And should be to dip. I used a small drill bit to start the hole. Then turned a screw in a little ways and pull the cap off. The air screw is directly below it so make sure to be careful not to damage it when removing the cover.

Thanks, wasn't sure if how to get it out. Does it need to be replaced when reassembing?

You can leave the cap off. It was only put on there to stop you fiddling with it in the first place (shame on you - you're gonna pollute the world...).

By the way - that screw is more usually called the mixture screw.

Nope, was following it step by step. But slide 25, the one in question, only shows going in with a screwdriver. Then the screw is magically removed in 26 without any mention to the little cap. I used the drill then insert screw and wiggle out method and it worked like a charm.
