A stock GS1000 even with a 4/1 will not need a 17.5 pilot. Instead fiddle with the fuel & air screw. First adjust the fuel screw & then adjust air screw to obtain high idle

I know yours isn't stock Steve but those fuel screws give a heck of an amount of adjustment on the pilot circuit. Are you sure you need them?

        idle jets

had Gs dynoed operator "said i may need to raise the pilot jet a size" ,but i can see
from what you tell me it would be to much .
have got 4 shims to raise the needles its slightly weak in mid range, but on main jet 140 it runs spot on.
by the way had it wiseco 1085cc ,V&H pipe oval K&Ns.
few other things aswell , also taken some of the baffling out of comp baffle at the same time trying to find 95-100BHP.
        thanks for the help.
