MARVING Mufflers?

Have searched high'n low for a good pattern 4 - 2 exhaust system for my GS1000S. Lots of 4 - 1 available, but no 4 -2 as far as I could find (other than the hideous MAC unit with turned out ends). Unfortunately, the very nice JAMA Originals 4- 2 is no longer made.

I found these slip on mufflers that would at least improve the looks of the main section while I continue my search for the rest.

What shape is the system that's on the bike right now? In the pics they look to be pretty good condition other than being the wrong mufflers. Don't hack into a good system....just don't do it! I'll happily give you some cash and good headers if you're thinking of cutting them up. Sorry don't have any info on the system you're looking at.

Mac makes a 4 into 2 that does NOT have the turn outs.

AZR, the pix don't show that the exhaust is covered in small scratches, below the appearance standard I hope for this bike. Don't worry, I wouldn't "hack" into the system, I was thinking the Marving mufflers would simply slip on once the stock system is disassembled.

MLinder, if you look closely at the page you referenced, it does specify that the muffler are "turn-outs", unfortunately. The picture is inaccurate (it shows a CB750 Honda anyway), but thanks for trying.

Marvings are usually frightfully expensive to import to N.America, but by all accounts, the quality is supposedly top-notch, and the sound (of their 4X1 systems, at least) very nice. If you do a search, one of our U.K members has a 4X1 on his GS.

Jim, no experience of the 4-2s but I've had several of their 4-1s. As far as quality goes their pipes are very good, possibly the best you can get in chrome I reckon. They let themselves down a bit with anything painted (brackets etc) though probably as good as original Suzuki.

As you're in Luxembourg you might be able to get them direct from the factory and save a bit. They wouldn't sell direct to me as Exactrep has the concession in the UK.

I have a pair of the Marving silencers on my GS750. The chrome is still perfect, no rejetting required and they fit nicely onto the standard headers. the only downside is they were very, very close to the swingarm range of movement (the originals have 'premade dents' I beleive?). A couple of small washers where they mount to the frame near the pillion pegs sorted this out.
Wemoto are also good people to deal with, I had a battery from them that got damaged in transit. They sent a replacement straight away and did not require the old one returning.

As an aside, I think the Jama system looks hidious, skinny pipes, they just dont flow with the bikes lines.

I think I might go with the Marving mufflers, from the picture they seem to blend perfectly with the rest of the system.

Darn it, you're right: Once I actually looked, it became clear the inner headers are welded to the mufflers.



I was hoping to have found an easy solution that wouldn't require chopping anything up.
