DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I need to order bigger jets for a 81 gs450e with the BS34SS carb. Im going up one size for the pilot, which would be 120. This is under part number VM on Z1s site. Is this the right pilot jet? The BS part number pilots are size 55 and down. What one should I order?
Thanks.

Well, you have the BS series carbs, not the VM.

Your MAIN jet might be a 120, but not your pilot.

Your stock PILOT FUEL jets are 45.

Why are you feeling that you need larger jets and why only one size?

If you are installing pipes or pods, you will need to go up more than one size on the MAIN jets.

Usually, only if you go into full-gonzo mode do you have to increase the size of the pilot jets, and even then, no more than one size.

.

Pilot jets are different from the Main jets. Pilot jets are typically referenced by numbers in the 30's and 40's, Main jets are numbers above 90. Your reference to a 120 Pilot jet is incorrect.

The correct pilot jets for your carbs are labeled as BS30/96 on the Z1 site. The correct main jets are listed as "Mikuni Large Round Main jets" - look in the Kawasaki info for these.

Edit: sorry for the redundant post. The last two posts came in while I was typing.

So I am not the only one then, seems I am in good company.

Ok, thanks.
I wrote it down wrong, will order the 47.5 pilot jets then.
I am installing pods and cutting down my exhaust.
Thanks for clearing that up.

I ve been reading prior posts about the 450 with pods. Some reference the pilot is 17.5 stock, some say 45 pilot. So what one is it. Thanks.
