    Intake boot O rings on 77 GS750

I took the intake boots off my '77 GS750. There are no O rings between the head and the boots. There are no grooves in the boots for O rings. Yet the exploded diagram on the Bike Bandit site shows O rings.

I also have a '77 parts bike and it does not have O ring there either.

What am I missing (besides O rings)?

You have one of the early bikes. Suzuki didn't have O-rings at first but changed the intake boots at some time later and added them. If your boots are hard and cracked it's time to upgrade to the new type.

OK thanks. I was puzzled because I had put new O rings in the intake boots of my '79 GS850.

They are actually pretty plyable...looks like PO used some silicone to seal them. Guess I better get new ones anyways.

At $37 each from the Bandit plus shipping, duty to Canada etc etc I think I wll be looking for some good silicone.

I'd skip the silicone, it's known to break down quickly in applications like intake boots. If the raised sealing surface is not appropriate to affect a proper seal I'd get the new boots for sure. Z1 enterprises may have some aftermarket Kawasaki boots that will work. Worth a try.

well at 37 bucks each for the real deals thats not bad considering that youll never replace them again for the next 35 years..i would say well worth the expense in being sure all related problems will then be solved for the duration..just my 2 cents worth.
