    i stand by my facts.
    if a person has not experienced what i'm talking about then its just hear say.
    mr. ricks kinda backed up what i'm saying.

        I love the pods for looks and the simplicity working around the carbs on the bike. Having some slightly off balance tuning on my 78 GS though where the inner cylinders are running leaner than the outer ones. I believe this is the airflow around the engine affecting how much air 1 and 4 are able to gulp. Just put the rubber stacks from the stock air box on to see if just sucking air from straight back helps even out the amount each cylinder gets. Will let you know if I figure anything out there.

          One thing that never, and I mean never, is K&Ns actually filter better once they get a little dirt built up on them. It's the very reason K&N recommends just brushing off some of the loose dirt then oiling them dirty. I don't think I've actually cleaned mine more than about 5 times in all the years I've used them.

            Very interesting. So did it work ok with the CV carbs and i guess stage 3 jet kit? If so why did you change to RS flatslides? What improvement was there and did you change bore size compared to the CV carbs? Overall i'm trying to avoid buying filters and jet kit for my CV carbs only to decide i want to buy some other carbs.

              The pods and DJ Stage 3 kit worked great. I just wanted more performance and the RS flatslides may just be the most bang for the buck mod you can do, especially for a bolt on item. The smallest size RS set is 34mm and can be run of 750 and up bikes. Once I installed the flatslides my clutch had a pronounced slip, something that never happened with the CVs. The reason, gobs more power and acceleration with the flatslides. Contrary to what one might think bottom end is still great, it will pull cleanly from down low as long as you don't whack the throttle open. If you do the bike will bog and lose steam. Once you get some rpm up then just keep the throttle pegged and hold on.

                even more interesting! Am i right in thinking if the 34mm is ok for each of the 750's cylinders it'll be ok for the 400's? I've found the UK distributor for them and they are selling the 34mm for Kawa 750 twin and the XS650 http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/products-rs.html so perhaps not looking likely. I'll call them tomorrow and have a chat.

                  They should work fine since a rack of four works on 750s and up. I see those are TM series carbs. They are a great carb too. If they know their stuff they can get them jetted correctly for you. They may not be on a rack and if so you have to find a throttle setup with cables for each carb. The old two stroke twins had a set up with a single cable running off the throttle that would split into two cables down the line.
