    GS1100L intake boots

I went to clean the carbs on my 82 GS 1100 L and found the intake boots cracked and crumbling. When I go to replace these boots can I use used boots off a bike on here? (Anyone have a set they want to sell?) I am not sure if the boots need to be new to make sure they dont leak air ect? Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

I know new boots can be a little pricey, about $20-$25 each depending on the vendor, but they will last another 25 years and make getting the carbs on and off soooo much easier. Order new clamps with the new boots as well as intake boot O-rings, if applicable. You won't regret it. I encourage you to fix it right the first time, then you'll never have to worry about it again.

Sure, you can get used boots. But I wouldn't want anyone else to use the old boots I took off of my bike.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

    BassCliff

Don't forget to order new O-rings to go with them.
