Hope all is well. I`ve got a sync question. I`m getting ready to replace my carb boots, o rings, air cleaner boots so I called my local 2 wheel shop for a price on getting the carbs sync`d while they are off the bike and was told it`s better and more acurate if they do them while installed. Are they correct? If so I`ll order and replce the parts b4 letting them do the sync but wanted to be sure. Also can anyone suggest the best place to order the replacemnet parts? Oh and I guess i should say my scoot is a `81 gs1000 G. Thanks

A "Bench Synch" will get you close, but you need to synch on the running bike.
It's like bore sighting a rifle.

Then I`ll change the parts and ride on over and have them do the sync. Thanks again. Don`t know what Id do without you guys. Now I just need to decide where to get the parts.sigpic1981 gs1000G Black

OK Got your point. Excuuuuuuuuuuuse me for being a little skepticle. I know my neighborhood guys are good but I just want to get the best deal. 30 years as a tech in a different field with hours cut and innsurance cut. Wife has hours cut cut and insurance cut so we we have to be a bit frugal. I used to be able to say I`m gong to get a bike part. But now it`s HOW MUCH IS IT !!!!!sigpic1981 gs1000G Black

I understand the "frugal" part quite well. That is why I had to resort to a job that requires me to travel.
Sorry, but the promise of free coffee is just not enough incentive to get me to travel 375 miles from home or 750 miles from where I am now.
Just make a simple spreadsheet to compare prices of the parts you want at the various places mentioned on BassCliff's site.
If the price gets close on the bottom two (or more), add in the shipping for the bottom line.
