Strange or modified?

I recently cleaned my pilot jets on my 82 850g ( spring clean) and getting ready to sell, noticed that on carbs 1,2,and 3 the fuel pick-up tubes for the pilot jets were not restricted. #4 carb had the restriction in the end of the tube that goes into the well in the fuel bowl. I should of took a pic of this but I didn't. I have had these carbs apart before and rebuilt and never noticed the difference. A.D.D. Has anyone had this same situation? I was just curious about this. I was wondering if this could have been modified at one time because the tips were plugged? It does not have any effect that I could tell. It starts great and runs excellent. Just curious. My feeling on this is no restriction, better induction. Yes? Bob

Someone probably swapped out a carb at some point, that tube does nothing when the choke is not on, so if it starts OK it really doesn't matter at all.
