we had em in rochester carbs for jeeps in the day.
They work when needed but not when not needed.

I got a buddy with some Kaw 29s with the pump he wants to sell. Wants 450.00 ..Had them bead blasted on outside but i think they will need gone thru thoughMY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Gabriel, the pump's function is to add fuel when the carb is running too lean. For example, if you are running at low rpm and nail it with older style (weren't they VM?) carbs, there would be lots of air, not enough fuel, and the engine would bog. My 78 GS750 did that, and was the reason I sold it. An accelerator pump would add fuel during that lean period and it would accelerate faster, but all it was really doing was compensating for a design flaw. The CV carb's design fixed that problem and the pumps are no longer required.

The accelerator pump's purpose is to inject a shot of fuel and richen the mixture when you grab a handful of throttle, which causes the mixture to go momentarily lean. Useful device to be sure, but it won't generate more power other than avoiding a possible flat spot in the mixture during fast throttle transitions.Ed

He was reading the dial calipers and i did the conversion on the calculator..maybe they were 28s then..he may have read the dial wrong..anyways yup they look like 26 but with the pump. I dont know about Kaw carbs and all i know is that he said they were off his 76 Kaw 900. He says he bought the bike new in San Diego.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
