VERY high idle
Finally got everything back together and the bike is idling at around 5k. Moved the idle screw around, and it made zero difference. Adjustment screws all the way in made zero difference. I'm guessing it's running really rich, but I'm not sure why since it ran and idled fine just a couple days ago.Tags: None

Check the throttle cable routing.
Also checck to see that it has not bound up inside the twist grip housing.
Happened to me once. It was feaky.

Took both carbs out to check the bench sync. Both were completely closed, so I opened them up a bit just to check, got them even again, and still the same thing. Intake boot o-rings the next step?

One thing I noticed with my '82 450E is that there are two locating holes in the throttle tube for the throttle cable.
When I was putting mine back on the other week, I had to move it to the second hole because the first one was holding the cable too short, sort of like what SVSooke posted the link about.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I'm having the same issue mike, and was just wondering if the o-rings fixed it, I already ordered some, but they haven't come in yet, and wanted to know if I needed to continue the detective work, or just wait it out :P
