ive been going through the list of jobs that need sorting on my gs550 1982,have had the bike running and tickin over but now the petrol tap spews out petol and won't stop,no matter which setting its on,any ideas?

Take it apart and find out why!
Most people on here don't recommend the rebuild kits, I have no experience with them. -

Hi all
Got a similar problem to eddie50clarkes "but now the petrol tap spews out petol and won't stop,no matter which setting its on" with my '86 GS850.
It's a vacuum tap but petrol comes out regardless of which point the key is turned.
I've changed the diapragm, in the hope that the old one had a hole in but it still leaks with the new one in. Any ideas other than "buy a new tap"? afterall there's nothing to them so it surely can't be too hard to correct??Comment
