the press-fit starter jet is smaller i am assuming it is off a gs750. is this something to worry about or will a few extra turns on the mix should do it?

starter jet ??
ok a while back i broke a float post. went to my local dealer and he had a set of bs32's sitting on a shelf and wanted 100$ for the set of 4 so i took them with out a second glance. well with the recent issues with my last ride i am re dipping my carbs. and noticed something different about them.

Thanks for the picture, it explains it perfectly.
I have seen them both ways on carbs for my 850s, I don't know if there will be a problem mixing them in a rack.

well acording to that spreedsheet on cliffs sight the starter jet on the 750 is #50 and the 850 its #32.5. i am assuming its like wire gauges the smaller the number the bigger it is.
i dident have a problem starting it i tried to ask a question in the performance & tuning thread http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=173280
of how the bike has been acting.. but this wouldn't effect the performance while riding just when its choked.

naaa its not really bothering me or the bike.. it started very well the other day at 20ish degrees. now if i do choose to do something it probably would be to drill out the ones that are there with some air blowing threw the choke slide cavity

Don't worry about it. Some have one hole at the bottom and others have three.
It'll suck the fuel up to start the bike on choke.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.

Point that I want to make is that there is also a hole, well, two holes, that go thru the tube near the carb base. So if you are cleaning out with a wire, need to get that also. I can not make any stametment as to what that thru hole is for. Nor can I answer your question about why one arb has differnet tube than other, just pointing out that this smaller tube also has those other holes.
