My petcock is stuck oh what can I do/

My mother always told me to hide it in a shoe.

    Damn it they are pricy.

How can I un-stick this damn piece of 26 yr old nylon?

What bike? Different models have different types of petcocks.

Since I don't know what bike you have, drain the tank and remove the two screws on the faceplate of the petcock. Remove the faceplate and shoot some penetrating oil around the valve. Grab the base of the handle with some pliers and try to rock it back and forth (clockwise and anti) , Once it frees up, remove the inner valve, Replace the O ring and the flat rubber disc with the holes in it. Scrub the inner and outer valve bodies with a scotchbright to remove any corrosion. Reassemble and you're good to go

That 30 year old "rubber" combined with old fuel and general corrosion can cause the lever to freeze
