carb question
Okay I have 78 Gs1000 that I have rebuilt the carb with new orings and gaskets. They are back to stock and the bike is stock accept some pods. I ran the bike today after syncing the carbs. It has great throttle response from the idle sitting on the stand but when riding it it falls on its face at around 5000rpm. I am guessing that i will need to increase the main jet does this sound correct. The carbs are all stock right now. Needle positions and all. It just seems like it is running out of fuel. I just want to make sure this sounds like the right direction...

Yep, she'll run as weak as a spinach starved Popeye unless you pop in some bigger main jets and shift the jet needle clip down a notch. You're in to trial and error working out what size mains to plumb in but do a search on here and somebody might be using the same pods as you.79 GS1000S
