    1980 GS850L idles high

    Carbeurators rebuilt, runs perfect, except idles high (1500RPM) acceptable but not perfect, Checked everything twice, everything looks good. Now What??? Thanks

    Did you try adjusting the idle screw?

      Greetings and Salutations!!

      Hi Mr. sailorlen10,

      Nice work! Be sure there are no leaks in the air intake system and then there are a couple of things left to do. You'll want to adjust the idle "mixture screws" using the "highest idle method" and then set your final idle using the main "idle screw" knob. Actually, you'll need to vacuum synchronize the carbs too.

            Did you change the intake boot O-rings yet? If not you could have a vacuum leak which is very common.
