The reason I ask is: I noticed the needle bushings for my 1100 are about half the size as the bushings on a set of gs850 carbs I have. I'll measure both tomorrow sometime; but I'm trying to establish a baseline for a set of FP needles I put in my 1100. If the bushing is already smaller, the recommended middle notch on the needle will be akin to a lower notch with the stock bushing.

Needle bushing
Does anyone know how thick the stock bushing that sits on top of the needle clip for GS1100 16v is?

So I cross referenced the bushing/spacer with other Suzuki models - it was the same part number for over 200 bikes, including all gs850 models. The previous owner must have either bought thinner bushings or ground these down somehow. That explains why I'm running so rich.-1980 GS1100 LT

I think I measured the spacer on my 1100gl at 2.53mm. Additional trivia is that the washer that comes with a dynojet kit is about .53mm and the washers from Radioshack are about .52mm. One groove of travel on the dynojet needle seems to be about 1mm. I guess a good way to get about a half a groove of adjustment would be to raise the needle 1 groove and remove the dynojet washer or lower the needle 1 groove and add a Radio Shack washer to the dynojet washer stacked above the e clip along with the plastic spacer. .... I'm confusing myself.1983 GS 1100 Guided Laser

I find working on my motorcycle mildly therapeutic when I'm not cursing.
