    GS750 1977 Carb Boots

Im looking for OEM crab boots in the UK, but can only find GS850 or GS1000, does anyone know if they have the same intake width/screw spacing as they seem to have the same diagonal spaced screw holes i have pods on so its just the intake width i need to worry about

Free at last, my whole sorry tale with a 1977 GS750 began with a leaking petcock that dumped fuel into the sump, i get a petcock rebuild kit, the bike runs fine, next day the taps dripping fuel, buy a second hand petcock saving myself £50 rather than a OEM on, tht runs find for two days then leaks all the fuel into the sump again over night, i order a new petcock £70, a find out my tank is from an american model so the bolt holes are 6mm out, fid a suitable size generic petcock, receive it and find out the vacuum pipe out the back doesnt gets in the wy of the frame, im despairing now as its taken 4 months and two oil changes just to try and get fuel into the bike, i finally discover that a Suzuki gsx650 F petcock fits the 44mm bolts the fuel and vacuum point to the left and it come with a prime switch dial, by chance i spot a second hand one in Ireland for £12 new there £60, being pessimistic i put an inline on off tap between the petcock and carbs so if it fails i dont have to drain the oil again. I start the bike it runs fine, however to get the tap on one of my pod breaks and i cant get it back on, so i decide to spray the carbs put in new spark plugs, i get a new pod and dream about getting out onto the road as there a mini heatwave here in England and the springs arrived. I start the bike and it only like to run on the choke, the idle screw has an erratic effect with the revs going way up when using the throttle, plus the carbs pop fearing the worse i assume with all the fannying about with pods and petcocks that the carbs intake o rings had failed cos it felt just like a air leak symptom, i also thought the carb boots may be cracking although the revs didnt go up when sprayed with WD40. So thinking that thats another long jobs maybe another £100 on carb boots which i dont know if theyre fit and ive convinced myself that all the fuel leaks have gummed up the carb needles. Anyhows i give it one last drive around as its so warm and its bogging down no acceleration when at a standstill using the trottle sends the revs way up, so i forelornly park it and just think maybe clean the plugs again as i look at the plugs i spit on the pipes nearest and theres no bubbling or steam, pipes 1 and 2 are steaming, i slap 3 and 4 and their stone cold. Now i think great this bike is cursed now i have to sort out exhaust valves as well as carb boots. But then i get to thinking that the plug leads on 3 and 4 are almost identical length so i swap then around but thinking that im sure ive always put them round the other way. I fire it up and the revs are really high i adjust the idle screw under the carbs and the revs fall instantly and the bike ticks over like a sewing machine, i take it out for a ride and its got instant response from the throttle and it sounds like the devil gargling gravel, it idles perfectly. I know its a long ramble but thank God ive finally sorted it and the suns shining and i can get out on the road. I was so fixated with one problem that i overlooked the simple error that could of cost me alot of time and money and never solved. The cosolation is that ive learnt almost all there is to know about these machines from this forum before ive had the chance to ride, thank you all.
