Thanks for that info. I went to Cycle Recycle (http://crc2onlinecatalog.com/) and looked and it appears that the MAC baffle is currently out of stock. The picture they have there clearly shows that mine is missing a BUNCH of bits and pieces. I'm wondering how that's affecting the performance of my system and if that might be part of my tuning issue??

Not sure where else to look, but I e-mailed CR to see if they might be getting more of these anytime soon. Wondering if there are any other sources or options??

Was looking around E-Bay last night and came across the attached baffle insert for my Megaphone....

I'm assuming you can pack packing around the outside of this as well.

Still searching for a "standard" baffle insert, but may consider one of these if that search fails, AND if I decide not to just buy a whole new system.

I went ahead an ordered the baffle above, and then ordered some packing material and new gaskets from Cycle Recycle II... Looking into having the header sandblasted and maybe alumicoated or ??? as well... We'll see if it's cost effective. Otherwise, I may just have it blasted and then paint it black. Chrome on the stinger is still really nice, so this will make the overall look good again.

Found a coatings shop that will sandblast and flame-spray aluminum coat (alumicoat) my header for me for around $150.00.... Think I'm going to pull it off the bike and go for it.

Got the header back yesterday, and the baffle for the megaphone arrived as well as the packing.

Painted the header with VHT Ultra-High Temp black over the Alumi-coating, buffed the megaphone, installed the baffle with packing, and got it all back together tonight.

Sounds great, looks clean, and by initial tests, seems to have helped the stumbling situation. Will know more about that after a few long rides.

Bike sure looks cleaner!! AND, I am into this for around $250.00, vs. the $325 or so (plus shipping) for a new system.

Your bike looks good, not at all like the average 850G.
What are the handlebars off of? They look like the ES bars on one of my 1000G's.

I take it the alumicoat serves to cover/fill in any pitting on the header? Just wondered, as to the reason you didn't opt for ceramic coating, for its thermal & protective benefits (though it would be more expensive, for sure).
Nice looking bike....that exhaust turned out great!

Well... when we raced SCCA, we had a GT-1 car that had 180-degree headers on it that we had alumicoated. Car would come off the track and we could darn near change plugs immediately. The aluminum coating prevents corrosion and helps hold heat in the pipe. Never considered ceramic coating. If I were going to that expense, I'd have just bought new headers I think. Also, I knew I'd be painting them black, and the paint sticks very well on the aluminum base.

Thanks, Daniel. As far as I know, the bars are stock GS850GT bars... They were on the bike when I got it.

I actually made an adjustment to them today and rotated them back toward the seat a little more. I keep thinking that I might want to try some CAFE or clip-on bars, but I'm not quite there yet. Would love to get a chance to sit on a bike that had them to figure it out.

Here is another angle showing the new "Competition" Baffle...
