Stopped in to my local Suz dealer to see if they has an OEM pectock.

It can be ordered for $109. There is a guy who sells them on ebay for $49 with required gaskets. He told me they are made by the original company who supplied them to Suzuki.

Probably the 1980 petcock? They are readily available.

Have you priced a hi performance pectock? I know its not original but for latter on if you get bigger/better carbs or engine parts

I'm just curious. Are you looking for part# 44300-44011? Partshark.com sells that for $246.06. Alpha-sports.com sells that for $346.37. That's the 1979 GS1000S petcock.

If you're looking for part# 44300-47270, it's a little more reasonable. Partshark.com sells it for $74.30. That's the 1980 GS1000S part.

I bought one of those same petcocks when Z1 sold them and the casting marks are identical to the OE part.

That leverless 1980 petcock has a tiny rubber check valve imbedded down in the guts of the body that commonly fails. If ever there was a petcock worthy of "throw away and buy new", this is the one.

Put it on your tank. Put gas in the tank. Put a section of hose on both the outlet and the vacuum line. Put the output line tube in a gas can. Suck a vacuum on the vacuum line tube and gas should flow out of the petcock.

The primer feature on that particular petcock is unique: you need to turn the little lever to Prime and then suck a pulse of vacuum on the vacuum line. Gas will flow until you turn the lever from Prime to ON.
