    GS750 Starving

Hi i have a GS750 and it is running well but when i go for more than 2 miles from m house it begins to starve for a gas and i have to pull over and prime thw bowls. Should i take apart the petcock and clean it out? My brother installed a jet kit, could that be using too much gas? Do i need a larger petcock to keep up with fuel demands? thank you for your help.

edit: I have 2 gallons of gas in the tank.

Check your petcock operation first for proper vacuum. If it only flows on prime, you could have a vacuum line problem or there's something else wrong with the carbs not pulling fuel down.

Welcome to the forum. Have you done all the other maintenance to the bike (carbs, air filter, plugs, valve adjustment, etc)?

See if it runs normally on prime. If it does, you have a petcock or vacuum line issue. The jet kit is not the problem.

Try running with the fuel cap off. You might be getting a vacuum in the tank.

When you put the jet kit in, did you hook up the vacuum line to the petcock?

Did you make sure your line isnt kinked? I had that problem with mine the best line to use is the black rubber line it can bend and not kink.
