Back to work!! I got my dynojet stage 3 yesterday. I have rebuilt the carbs but never messed with the needle and diaphram. Can someone tell me how disasemble to replace the needle in CV carb. I do see a small clip inside but if that's where I start I'm not sure i have the tool to get to it.

You got it right. That clip has to come out. Motion Pro sells some long nose snap ring pliers, and some people have luck grinding down some cheap snap ring pliers so they fit down into that tunnel.

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured I needed another tool. I was just starting to get creative with a couple very small screwdrivers but I know I would have messed something up!! I will get a set of snap ring pliers and do it right.

Here is a similar discussion. Most of the circlip plier you find are not long enough.

Any $3 small needle nose plier will work. Just needs a little notch filed just back from the end will grab the clip.

Advice, when you squeeze the circlip to remove, remove the pressure before removing t from the slide. If it slips inside the slide it is less likely to go anywhere and if there is no pressure it wont go anywhere.

Use the same approach in the opposite direction (reinstall) as well. Put the clip on the pliers, then lower then into the slide. Only then do I squeeze them; this avoids alot of lost clips.

There is a high probablility if you squeeze outside the slide that the circlip will go flying

When you think it is set, try and turn it to make sure it slides in the groove and is seated.

good info thanks. It's funny that I can take apart a carb, rebuild it, and put it back to gether then do almost all of the rejet but it's one small clip that has me banging my head against the wall. I may try to file down some needle nose to get the job done.

Got it!!! took the filing down needle nose route. My neighbor had a few questions when I was using the concrete to file them down!! He also told me not to let my dog wiz in his yard! I told him he needs to pick up his newspapers because they get all over the road. We aired our grievances then I gave him a Bud Select and all was well. Okay focus now on to the tuning part. Can anyone tell me where to start? I have a high idle that can't be adjusted any lower with the screw. I know I need to sync the carbs but how do I make it idle lower or will it?
