    G1000 Mystery needle?

I don't know if I have a major problem or not with this one. I can not find this needle on ANY parts list that I can see. The picture doesn't really show, but this needle has a spring + o-ring and comes up from underneath the carb into the throat of the intake. I believe the carbs to be VM29's since they are off of a 79' 1000N, but since I have zero experience working on these carbs I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I've talked to a couple local dealers and they either don't know or don't care to know. Let me know if you need more info, I'd like to get this bike going soon so I can work the kinks out before the riding season

Looks like Mikuni VM 26 which is standard in the USA for a GS 1000 before 1980. That needle is the pilot fuel screw.
Are you missing some of the fuel screws? Did the tips break off?

One of the tips were broken and jammed all up in there I'm not sure the P.O. knew what he was doing, considering he "just went through the carbs"

That is very very common, did you get the tip out?
        No, Allie.

It doesn't show up on parts fiches because it's "sealed" for EPA purposes

It is the fuel screw, rest at about 3/4 turn out after you replace the O ring
