    Carbs Quick question

I have the carbs off, should moving the throttle linkage make the throttle slides move? Or is it a vacuum thing? throttle linkage moving freely internal slides not moving.

Vacuum above the diaphragm makes the slides will go up.
    There's no mechanical connection.

Moving the throttle linkage should make the butterfiles open. The additional air rushing past the (lowered) slides will cause a bit of vacuum (Bernoulli's Principle), which is transferred through the slide to the area above the diaphragm at the top. That it what lifts the slide.
