    GS750E Carb HELP PLEASE

I have a 83 GS750E and my pilot screw head is all rounded. I managed to get it out but cant seem to find a replacement. I contacted Z1 and they gave me this part number and there is the screw sold seperatly right below.

Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.

Im just wondering if this is the correct screw, because my local dealer said that the screws were different from any of the other bikes, and the fitment just says GS750. Thanks for any help you can give me. My Manometer will be here in 2 days and this will be the only thing holding me back.........

I have the same problem as you with my 1980 GSX1100.The mixture screw at Z1 looks shorter than my original ones.I emailed Z1 and they are not certain either. They are trying to help, asked if I could send them a photo of mine and they will try and match it.

I would think that as long as the taper is right the length may not be an issue....

Some of the GS ones are shorter than others - if you get some Canadian ones for example they are longer & sit at the top of the mixture screw hole in the carb where as the USA ones sit 1/4" or so down due to the fact that they need to make room to stick that silly emmissions plug over the top of them!!

Other than length there is no difference, function is the same as the "business end" is the same. The extra length is in the shaft between that & the thread from memory. The Canadian ones are easier to get out when they're stuck obviously as the heads are closer to the top.

I think you have hit the nail on the head with this one.My GSX1100,originally was bought new in South Africa and did not have the emmissions plug installed and the head of the mixture screw sits right at the top of the hole!

Got it all together, got my Manometer in the mail today too. Started the bike up, synced the carbs (after letting them sit in carb dip overnight) and the bike runs better then ever! Thanks for the help!
