How about helping us out and telling us how big the tank is? The info is in the factory service manual. BTW, your bike should get at least 50 mpg.

More like 60 something if all is well.
Hell a 750 should be around 50 mpg.

Life is too short to ride an L.

Sounds too small. Manual should state total fill, and reserve fill.

              straight from the manual:

              Capacities

              Liters - 11
              US Gal - 2.9
              Imp gal - 2.4

Dont know if it matters but this is the manual I got off Bikecliffs website (middle section, 3rd link down) http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/, says its for 77-87 450's, doesnt specify 450L but none the less 450 neway.....Not the same or good?

Is it recommended to size up? And if so what other changes need to be made to do so?

                  Hi,

I would just ride what you've got. Stay within 100-120 miles of a gas station. To install a larger tank would take modifications to the frame's tank mounts, bolt holes, the new tank's mounting tabs, etc. All that trouble may not be worth it to you.

                  Thank you for your indulgence,
