Hey Guys, Trying to quieten down my 1980 gs 850 L just a bit. Live next door to the sheriff. Can the stock megaphone mufflers be repacked? I can't figure out how to get the darn things apart. Thanks for all the help!

The stock L model exhaust systems have a bit of a rumble, but they are in no means loud. I'm the first person to hate on loud exhausts, but honestly, I'd leave it be.
BTW, there is no "packing" in the stock exhaust system. Even if you could get the mufflers open, which you can't without performing metal work, there is nothing inside you can replace to make the system quieter than stock.Ed
