Suzuki OEM petcock, bad quality i believe

Today i started my bike and noticed fuel leakage from the vacum hose connected to petcock, so i have not yet solved this.

I regret not to have followed the advice from TKENT02 back in 2009.

Old GSX with a new vacum operated OEM Suzuki Petcock installed, vacuum system sucks fuel through the petcock and into carburator no 2.

How to fix a leakage into the vacum hose?

The diaphragm must be cut. Bad luck to get a new petcock with that problem.

Get a new petcock, two years is too long to fight this problem! Maybe you got a bad replacement.

I would buy a rebuild kit and just replace the diaphram, since it is only two years old the metal should be in good shape

I concur, leaky diaphram. I had the same exact issue. Inside the petcock is a diaphram that acts as a fuel valve. When you turn on your bike, the vaccum line pulls on the diaphram to let the fuel flow. So if there's a leak in your diaphram, then the vaccum line sucks the gas right into the #2 carb. I tried a diaphram kit and it stopped the leak, but then the petcock wouldn't work right. Of course that was with an old petcock, you might have better luck putting one in a newer petcock.

Well, i have lived with this for some year.. My baby runs ok, and i am a slow rider. Some day i will fix this... Today i cut away the edges on the gasoline and the leaking vacum tube, reconnected, started her up and had a nice tour round neighbourhood.
Afterwords i disassembled the old petcock and undrstand that this diaphram most likly is the reason. Well, tnx for your help.. iam sure its not wise continue ride her like this.. some day.. Espen
Is there a link to this replacement diaphram here?
