A 1978 GS 750 That Will not Start on its Kickstand?

The bike starts if it is upright, but when it is resting on its ''aftermarket'' kickstand, the engine only turns over and will not start. Do you guys have an idea what is going on? Any and all information will be apreciated!

Are there any electrical wires coming from the kickstand?

No, it is only a 78, I think it might have to do with the carbs or something. If the kickstand is sticking out while the bike is upright, it starts. It is really only if the bike is leaning on the side.

Also, is the bike designed for a center-stand? It looks like there are holes to fit one.

Once again, any theories are accepted, I really have no clue what is wrong with it!

Maybe the float height is messed up and the mixture is off with the bike tilted to the side.

That's what I'd surmise. Or, maybe there is leaking float valve or two.
