1981 GS850G unknown black hose

Hello all, hope someone can help. I have black hose and a grey hose running to the petcock under my fuel tank. Those are connected correctly, one is a fuel line and one is a vacuum line. I also noticed another black hose running along the air box that seems to go up to the tank and is cradled by a bracket of some sort on the tank. Oddly enough it has a clamp on it, but I cannot figure out where it connects to, as their is nothing in reaching distance of it. Anyone know what this is? Any help would be great.

Might be your fuel sending unit overflow tube.

Yeah, it's most likely going to be the fuel gauge sending unit overflow.

Oddly enough I do not have any hoses running from the fuel gauge sending unit under the tank? Are they necessary? I ran the bike last fall just fine, not having anything connected. Let me know fellas... Thanks.

It would be a good idea to have it hooked up just in case the fuel sending unit decides to dump fuel all on top of your hot motor. I've had a bike catch fire while riding and it isn't any fun.
