Greeting Fellow GS Riders,
I have a 83 GS 850G that I bought equipped with a non-stock exhaust that was rusted, dented, pin-holed, and big-holed. The previous owner had attemped to pach several of the holes by sloppy welding. He actually welded one of the exhaust-to-engine mounting bolts to the exhaust. That was a pain to remove!
Anyways, I have replaced with is a straight-pipe system that I found on craigslist. I was able to get the bike running, poorly, with this exhaust but,
I need to replace this exhaust! i would like to return to a factory setup but can't find an exact 1983 GS 850 G exhaust.
So, what are some other year/model exhaust systems that will be a direct bolt on. Or a near direct bolt on. It also must allow the center stand clearance to work. The current exhaust doesn't.
I have found this item on ebay... Any thoughts?
