Runs, but "Pops" with choke on??

When I first start my bike, with the choke on, the bike starts right up, and idles, etc., but it "Pops" a bit while on the choke. When I take the choke off, it idles down and idles fine once warmed up.

Generally, what causes this popping under the choke. Too rich, I'm assuming, but how do you adjust it??

    Hi,

Use the idle mixture screws and the "highest idle method".

Sounds good... I'll work on that. Just ordered a carb tune as well, so a real balancing is in the near future!

        Hi,

After a bench sync, just turn all the idle mixture screws out about 3 turns as a starting point. Then adjust the big idle adjustment knob. Then "balance" the carbs (vacuum sync). Then use the "highest idle method" to adjust the idle mixture screws. Finally, adjust the main idle screw again so the idle is about 1050 rpm (+/- 100 rpm). That's THREE different adjustments; idle mixture (screws), (main) idle rpm, and vacuum sync (carb balance).
