    Bogging down

I apologize now there is probably an answer for my question somewhere in the forum. But I just got an 83 gs650 shaft drive and I've driven it for a 100km and it ran great. I get on it today I put the choke on to start it let it idle for a bit and turn off the choke and take off. I go about 30 feet then it bogs and stalls, I go to try to start it and won't start.
I push it home and check the plugs and wires, everything looks good. Then I tried to start it, and it started up like nothing ever happened, so I go for a ride and with in two minutes it acts up again and stalls but this time I was at a bottom of a hill and it won't catch. So I push it up the hill too try to jump start it and it worked and drove fine for another couple of minutes. Tried to get it going but killed the battery and tried to push start but that didn't work either.
So tomorrow I'm going to try to get it going but I need some directions please

What you need to do is simple. Do the thirty years of neglected maintenance that your 650 needs... Then ride the heck out of it.

                Hi,

Mr. Big Daddy received his "mega-welcome" in his petcock thread. Perhaps he hasn't had a chance to click on the links and read all the collected wisdom of this fine community.

Mr. Big Daddy, you'll find maintenance task lists, tutorials, manuals, wiring diagrams, just about everything you need to get your bike in tip-top shape. Just follow the instructions in your "mega-welcome" and read through all the related tutorials. Most of your questions will be answered.

                Thank you for your indulgence,

                BassCliff
