petcock problems

what would the be problems if my petcock was not functioning properly. It seems like my bike isn't getting enough fuel

First off, what maintenance have you done on your bike? Are the hoses in good shape? If you put it on prime does fuel flow? If you suck on the vacuum line when on run/reserve does fuel flow?

In a lot of situations it is also helpful to know what bike we are talking about. Yeah, and make sure tank vent ( little hole in cap area) is not plugged causing a vacuum restriction!
