Just a little help with Pods, please

after all the work to remove the hanging Idle, i.e. new boot o-rings, new rings in airbox boots, and weather stripping the air filter in the airbox. I still had the hanging Idle. SO, I went and bought pods, I know I need to rejet, but I fired the bike up and let it idle, idles rough and no hanging idle( so I believe the issue is somewhere in the airbox.

My question is on my 82 850GLZ, does anyone know what sizes might be good for these K&N Pods? From the recommedations on the sheet with them, I was to calculate I would have to go to a #130 for the stock #115) main jet. But with the jet needle section on the sheet I was not able to discern wat they meanby a primary jet size. are they talking pilot jet or what?

If anyone out there as done this can you guide me just a bit? I hate working on carbs unless I have to, for they are so important to the bike.

best option is to go for a dynojet kit, should sort it out

Best bet is to fix it with the original airbox. If you're struggling to get it to run right with that on it won't be easier when you delve in to the murky world of re-jetting for pods, that's for sure.

I found my hanging idle problem was in the airbox, and I can't sort it out, Hampshirehog.

Did you put new weatherstripping to seal the air box? It should go around the lid. Try that out before spending money unnecessarily.

Well, I already got the pods, I wanted to do that to the bike anyhow. But I may have missed the cover on the airbox. I did the air filter where it sits in the airbox because that one was bad, but again not the lid or cover or door, whatever you want to call it.
