    petcock vac hose

    On a 1979 GS850 W/VM carbs which carb pulls vac for the petcock. BikeCliff shows CV carb configuration on were do these hoses go. Same on VM setup?

    It goes on carb #3.

    Remember that #1 is under your clutch hand and #4 is under your throttle hand.

    The hoses on carbs 2&4 are just vents.

      Vacumm line attachment

      Hi,
      If your carbs are still mounted on the bike it may be very difficult to attach the vac line if you cant reach the nipple on the carb.

      If so take a clothes hanger and cut off the straight length on the bottom of the hanger. At one end bend about a one inch length to a slight angle. slide the vacumm hose over the wire and insert the bent end gently into the nipple at the carb. now you can slide the line into position over the nipple as needed. Gently remove the wire. Works like dream.

        Thanks guys. Probably why I was having fuel problems. Ran fine in prime position but not in on pos. This should help.
