Main Jet # Identification?
So I pulled my float bowls off my 80 gs1000 CV carbs to find out what jets I have. I have a 4 in 1 V&H pipe and pods from the previous owner and just cleaned carbs but dont wanna put them back on till I figure out if I have the proper jets. My main jet has that little square symbol and says 1275 under it. Does anyone know if this is a larger jet than original?Tags: None

1980 gs1000e jets...
i,ve got a 1980 gs1000e,,, with cv carbys ,,,, i think standard are 127.5m /pilot 40... as i purchased oversize jets from z1 in usa,,,which i.ll put in at some stage ... regards oldgrumpy

MMMMmmmm, so I guess they are stock? That stinks. I really didnt have $100 to drop on a dynojet kit. Guess my bike might be sitting a bit longer till I can knock out a few overtime shifts.

I looked at the carb chart on bikecliff's website and it said main jet # 110 on my bike. I was hoping that 127.5 was put in due to the performance upgrades.

Stock mains are 107.5 not 127.5. Pilots are 40.
I ran a stock motor and 4-in-1 Yosh with 42.5 pilots, shimmed needles and 120 mains. I used the stock airbox and a K&N drop-in. I kept the lid on but I doubled the size of the intake hole; instead of two small round holes I cut out a large single oval as big as that surface on the box would allow.
It ran great. No hesitation from down low and and it pulled nicely in every gear. ran so well I never had the inclination to run individual filters.

well since these mains are significantly larger than stock ill put the bike back together and see how it runs. then ill decide on the dynojet kit.
