Just curious but how come you went with a cable actuated choke?

Photobucket? Am I missing something? I don't see a link anywhere in this thread... I'd like to see too...

I don't have a photobucket so I'm not sure which photo you're referring to. Here are the photos I do have:

The photos are old and don't show the new airbox.

Forgot to add my bike to my signature. The bike is running great now. I can't believe I didn't realize the hoses were reversed to begin with, but I did learn an awful lot about the carbs in the process. Everything is clean as whistling now.

Haha all good, now it all makes sense

Just to answer the question, the lever actuated choke is because the scrambler pipe being made by Tranzac at the moment will be in the way of the choke lever, and I've always wanted it on the 'bar rather than the carbs too.

Looking at your pics and him telling me his vacuum hooked up on #2 I was thinking "holy cow this guy's got his carbs on backwards and his choke and throttle mixed up" as I see obviously not the case.

You did help me quite a bit, despite the confusion

You mentioned the overflow tubes and I thought to myself, "there aren't overflow tubes on my carbs! Oooh, wait a minute. *5 minutes of cursing*"

Mate that's awesome you got it running

I'm undecided what to do with my overflows yet, no airbox for them to route to so I'll have to think of something...

Overflows go to the return on your fuel tank, so don't worry about that part.

Really? I don't recall a return on my tank at all, fuel tap only has two connections, one for outlet and one for vacuum. Now that you mention it I can't recall exactly where those overlows went but I was sure it was the airbox... I know the valve cover breather goes to the airbox...

Oh well, no airbox so it's all a moot point really

The return on my tank is on the right side, right next to the fuel level sender (which doesn't work).

Aaaah I see! Must be a later '80's thing... definitely nothing fancy like a fuel sender on my '82

It's just been too many years since I pulled it apart to remember incidentals like that...

Im pretty sure there is no return on any GS's... You might be talking about the fuel level sender drain.
