what other carbs will fit?
I'm looking for donor or replacement carbs for my '79 gs750e and they are turning out to be rather hard to find. what other bikes took the same carbs? are there other bikes with different carbs that could still fit? I'm looking at some carbs from a '80 kz1000 on e-bay and wondering if they would fit or at least have parts that I could useLast edited by Guest; 07-09-2011, 08:47 AM.Tags: None

I just read this on another forum:
I have a set of Mikuni BS32SS's from a 1981 Suzuki GS750...these were being run and are in good condition but could probably use a good brushing. $100 shipped to the US. I have a set of Mikuni BS32SS's from an unknown year Suzuki GS850. I bought these to for another GS motor I was working on...
Don't like to post links to other sites, but if it helps you out.......

If the 80's model carbs will fit, you can look at GSXR carbs. I fitted a set from an 86 GSXR with no problems

My bike came with VM29 smoothies, while trying to tear them down I got the main air jet on one body stuck, drilling out isn't working. MisterCinders gave me a basket-case rack of VM26ss, but I'm still missing parts. When I started the thread I had some pilot air screws stuck, but I got them out, now I just need parts, I can handle it from here on out.
I'm really just curious what other carbs would work. I seem to remember hearing that CB750 carbs would fit. It would be wonderful to figure out a way to adapt the bike to EFI, but I hear thats quite difficult if even possible.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/carb-...Q5fAccessories I actually made a bid on these and don't want to go over $25 seeing that I really dont need them anymore. I'll use some parts from my VM29's and buy the rest from cycleorings and Z1
