Air Screw Adjustment on 1978 GS1000E
I have been reading in the service manual and it says that the air screws are preset. However, obviously the PO has messed with them. Does anyone know what the appropriate setting is for a 78 gs1000e. I have them at 3/4 out and it is running fine, but I'm just curious.

That's too small an opening for the air screws
Are you talking about the pilot fuel screws (underneath, at the front)?
They would be set at b3/4 or so1978 GS 1000 (since new)

That's what I thought. My 750 is 1 1/2 turns out, and it's a 78. Just couldn't find the information for a gs1000 is know how many turns out. It's OK at 3/4, but I'm lookin' to find out exactly what they shoult be at stock.

Pilots ( on the bottom ) of my 3 1000s are at 11/4 out.. may be a bit rich but thats ok. Mixture screws ( on the sides ) are subjective to each individual nike and cylinder. A good starting base is approximately 1 3/4 to 2 turns out. You can also look here...
