Not quite sure where this should go, but this seemed like a good spot. I recently got an 83 GS550e. Its the sport bike version. Now it was VERY rusted inside, especially on the top. I put my thumb thru it. I cut off the top & I fabed some sheet metal to weld on to get me by til I got a new tank. Having a lot of trouble finding one for it. What other model/engine sizes and years would be the equivalent?

This site & Ebay will be your best bets to find one. 83-86 550Es & ESs are the tanks you need. I would NOT run the tank you have as I GUARANTEE you will get rust in the carbs & have PROBLEMS!!! Ray. -

Yes, check the Parts for Sale section and post in the Parts Wanted section. And keep your eye on Ebay. I found a great tank on Ebay for my bike for only $60. Good luck to you.
