    Re-jetting Questions

i was wondering where to buy new jets for my 79 gs750 on the cheap? it was a basketcase and came with pod filters and no airbox and i imagine it was never tuned or re-jetted for the pods.

also, if there is an existing thread that describes this process that would be awesome as well.

    thanks

Before you do anything you've got to find out what's in there. Take the bowls off and make a note of the main jets and bleeder jet on each of the carbs.

      Hi,

Make sure you have properly cleaned the carbs. See the tutorials on my little website.

Z1Enterprises.com is always a good source for just about anything. You can also buy jets from aftermarket places like denniskirk.com or any OEM vendor from your "mega-welcome" list, which includes the following...

Sudco International - Carburetor parts, Classic & Late Model Replacement & Performance Parts, etc.
      http://www.sudco.com/ (http://www.sudco.com/oemcarbparts.html)
      MotorcycleCarbs.com
      - Carburetor parts, etc.
      http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/index.cfm
      Jets R Us -
      Carburetor parts, filters, gauges, etc.

For CV Carb jetting, see the very informative article at Factory Pro. Also see the carb jetting tips at Motorcyclecarbs.com, Inc.

To search the forum, I would suggest performing an Advanced Search, search Titles Only, and use search terms such as "carb AND rejet" or "rejetting AND carbs".

      Thank you for your indulgence,

      BassCliff

Z1 is good for jets. They have mains on their site, but call them if you need to up your pilot jet. The pilot jets on their web site are VM22s not VM26s.

Another source is www.jetsrus.com. I've had good luck with them and they are reasonable and fast.
