    Quick Jetting Adjustment Question

For those who don't know the background, here is a review of my bike specs:

    1980 GS850G
    Stock Motor
    K&N Pods
    Mac 4-1
Dynojet Stage 3, installed as recommended, except with 160 mains instead of 165 mains.

At sea level, the mixture feels a tad rich, and stumbles right around 7,000 RPM right at about the 2/3-3/4 throttle mark. It will pull through this and pull pretty well down here. However, when it's HOT outside, or I'm up in the passes (3500ft+), the stumble gets worse and it continues from 7,000 RPM on with the throttle open past 2/3-3/4.

I don't think that the mains are overall rich enough to warrant dropping down a full jet-size to 155's, but obviously something needs to be done.

Does this sound like a case where the needles are set too rich, and I should I lower them down a notch, or maybe two, to lean out this portion of the circuit?

    Hi,

What do your plug chops tell you? At 3/4 throttle you are still on the needle circuit. Where are your needles set?

    Thank you for your indulgence,

How much time do you spend in the mountains compared to being at sea level? This will dictate your settings.
