    Swapping Carb assemblies

    Hi guys,
I am working on my 1980 550 L, Carbs have given me an issue from the start. Did a full rebuild, dip, seals replaced rotted diaphram ex.(the spring clip at the bottom what a pain). However my air/mix needle on the #3 is stuck in the body, I am going to try to use and extraction tool and re thread. If this doesn't work i was thinking of replacing the carb body itself, the whole assembly..

In short can anyone give me some guidance as to what year/model carbs i can use in the swap?

    Thanks
    AJ

Soak that screw to death in (proper) penetrating oil and use a tight fitting scewdriver. May be give it a few light taps as well just to try and loosen off any gunge causing it to stick. It'll come out - don't be tempted to use an easy-out; it'll snap and then your boogered.
