Replacing Carb boot O-rings and clamps ?

Going to replace my carb boot o-rings in an effort to cure my hanging idle. It seems I read in another thread that the clamps also stretch over time. Mine are sucked up as tight as they go. So I will replace them. My question. Is OEM better than a conventional hose clamp ? The OEM has a smaller screw head and is probably jis as well. I have been unable to locate jis in Vancouver. A hose clamp doesn't look as pretty, but has bigger screw head, and will keep sucking together until it breaks. What do you guys use ?

I like the OE clamps. They are thinner, and fit into the recess on the boots. You don't need a big wide clamp, thinner is better.

Agreed. Hose clamps will also increase the chances on the clamp cutting into your boot. Most of the Zook clamps I've got laying around have either a nice rolled edge or at least have been smoothed off. Hose clamps are pretty damn sharp usually and I resurrected an 1100E couple years ago that all the boots were destroyed by hose clamps cutting them through.
