Replacing Carb boot O-rings and clamps ?
Going to replace my carb boot o-rings in an effort to cure my hanging idle. It seems I read in another thread that the clamps also stretch over time. Mine are sucked up as tight as they go. So I will replace them. My question. Is OEM better than a conventional hose clamp ? The OEM has a smaller screw head and is probably jis as well. I have been unable to locate jis in Vancouver. A hose clamp doesn't look as pretty, but has bigger screw head, and will keep sucking together until it breaks. I like the OE clamps. They are thinner, and fit into the recess on the boots. You don't need a big wide clamp, thinner is better.Ed
