Fuel leaking out of airbox drain hole

I rebuilt the carbs a couple of months ago, cleaned and soaked, replaced all o-rings, etc. I put them into the bike (1983 GS 750E) today and got it started but a fair amount of gas started leaking out of the airbox drain hole. The petcock is brand new and the it was in the "on" position, not prime. What could be the cause, a stuck float??? I'm really dreading having to take them out again, any suggestions?

You hit the nail on the head. If not the petcock then the next place I would look would be the floats. If not stuck then maybe misadjusted.

I will check floats on Sunday, going to Midevil Times tomorrow with the family. Mmmm, eating chicken and ribs and watch jousting, should be fun!
