Ok, so something I did somewhere worked great and now the bike is running awesome!
The things I did were as follows:
1)complete carb rebuild and I mean COMPLETE. that is soaking in carb dip, and replacing o-rings with http://cycleorings.com/
I also replaced 2 carb bodies, one had been patched with some liquid steel or something and I accidentally broke the protruding brass looking thing at the bottom of one of the carb bodies, luckily I have a donor bike!
2)replaced a bent carb slide needle
3)new main jets, 115 up from 105 for the Pods.
4)new pilot jets 17.5 up from 15
5)1 new carb boot to replace one that was chipped and all new carb boot o-rings.
6)measured and reset carb floats to Spec.
7)bench sync
8)valve adjustment with the help of Steve! Thanks Steve!
I then put everything back together and primed the float. carb #4 started ****ing out gas so I tapped the bowl and all was well.
I waited a minute or so pulled the choke and she fired right up!
she takes the gas great now has no hanging idle and takes throttle "blips" like a champion! I don't think i could stall it if i wanted to.
I can't wait to take her for a test/shakedown ride!
