Flat slide/carb help for 1100
I have obtained a set of Flat slide carbs that supposedly came off of a GSXR750. Thet have numbers on the side of them 21eg then directly below that number is t572. I am interested in using these carbs on a 821100 now an 1168, stock head and cams (gsxr head cams port from Ray hopefully this winter). Can anybody help me identify these carbs and would they be worth putting on this bike or use the set of carbs I have from an 1150 (obviosly not flatslide). I also have a set of flat slide carbs from an 86 gsxr750 that appear to be smaller available also.82 GS1100e - (1168 kit, GSXR head, Yoshi cams, FCR39's)

Are they 36 or 38 mm? What year GSXR? I have a set of 36mm off a 90' GSXR-11. You need to fuss with float height and a jet kit is helpful. I think the 15 degree angle of GSXR carbs on a GSXR head, explain the float height changes needed when installing on a flatter intake tract, like the 1100. This set up is on an 1150 engined Kat

The throttle response is like night and day when you get it right. I don't know what kind of HP gains, but it feels much stronger from the seat of the pants. I had to lean out the floats substantially, almost to the point where they weren't actuating the needle jet, otherwise I was fouling numerous plugs. I think you'll have difficulty w/o a jet kit.
I don't think my set up is perfect, a little hesitation below 3k, but after that it feels right to redline.
142.5 mains, middle notch on the "Factory" needle, 32 pilot (I think) maybe 30 stock, 2 turns out on air fuel screw, 1/4 turn more on #2,3, Dual K&N pods.
I sold my stock 1150 carbs, 10 years ago, and I like the slingshots better. I had to use a GSXR throttle cablle modified to fit the stock throttle housing and shorten the idle screw on the carbs as it was hitting the cam chain tensioner.GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES.
