    GS1000E carbs on 82 1100

Selling some carbs and was asked if the 1000's would fit the 1100. I don't believe they will fit because of the bigger intakes on the 1100....is this so?

If they're CV carbs, they'll 'fit', but will probably need to be rejetted. If they're VM's, they're completely different and won't fit the head without modification.
    1982 GS1100GL (Sold :()(Retrieved!)
1978 GS1000C (Sold, to be revived by Chuck)
    1979 GS1000EN (Parts Whore)
    1979 GS1000C (Collecting Dust)
    1980 GS750E (Sport-Touring Build...Someday?)
    1981 GS750L (Abandoned Project...maybe?)
    1982 GS750E (Collecting Dust)
    1983 GS750T (This is becoming a problem...)
    1981 GS650GL (Parts Whore / Cafe Donor)

Those are VM carbs. It's possible that I'm mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the 1100's all have CV carbs. It won't be a 'bolt-on' swap.

They will bolt on if the intake boot pipes are changed to the '78 or '79 GS1000 type.

I stand corrected, good to know. Wouldn't jetting be a PITA, though?

Good point. Ray is correct. I was thinking G model.

Well any-who the deal I'm willing to pass on to someone is the carbs are basically free. The new stage 3 kit with pod's would cost what I'm selling them for.
